B.A.L.A is led by an Aesthetic Medical Professional, not physician-led. Non-medical professionals can enroll for the theory portion. A valid medical license is required for the hands-on clinical training.
Our academy runs inside Bala Aesthetics & Medispa — a fully operational medspa. Students aren't role-playing on classmates. They're performing real procedures on real patients.
You don't need prior medical experience to sign up. A current valid medical license is required only for the hands-on clinical training — not for the theory portion.
Instructors are experienced nurse practitioners and licensed laser specialists. Students get consistent, hands-on supervision from the same practitioners throughout their program.
Graduates leave with a B.A.L.A certification and real experience. Our programs are built for providers opening medspas, new injectors building confidence, and experienced practitioners advancing their skills.

Kevin Jay is a nationally trained laser specialist, educator, and medical spa owner with more than 18 years of experience in the aesthetic laser industry. Throughout his career, he has successfully treated over 20,000 clients, earning a reputation for delivering exceptional results in laser tattoo removal and laser hair removal.
As a Certified Laser Instructor through the National Laser Institute, Kevin has dedicated his career to advancing laser education and helping providers develop the skills necessary to perform treatments safely and effectively. His extensive hands-on experience, combined with a deep understanding of laser physics and treatment protocols, has made him one of Michigan's most respected laser professionals.
Known for his attention to detail, passion for education, and dedication to achieving exceptional results, Kevin continues to be a trusted leader in the aesthetic laser industry and a mentor to the next generation of aesthetic professionals.

Angel Aburashed is a Registered Nurse, aesthetic educator, and co-founder of B.A.L.A. Academy. With more than six years of nursing experience, including specialized training in a Level I Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Angel brings a strong clinical foundation and unwavering commitment to patient safety into the field of medical aesthetics.
As Owner of Voilà Aesthetics and Co-Founder of B.A.L.A. Academy, Angel is passionate about helping healthcare professionals develop the confidence, knowledge, and technical skills needed to excel in aesthetic medicine. Her expertise includes neuromodulators, dermal fillers, PRP therapies, laser treatments, facial assessment, hair restoration, and follicular unit extraction (FUE) hair transplantation.
Angel is currently pursuing her Family Nurse Practitioner degree, further strengthening her commitment to evidence-based practice and advanced patient care. Known for her hands-on teaching style and dedication to student success, Angel believes exceptional outcomes begin with a thorough understanding of anatomy, patient assessment, and proper technique.

Aaliyah Fayad is a dedicated Nurse Injector at Voilà Aesthetics and Instructor at B.A.L.A. Academy. Her journey into aesthetics began as a licensed esthetician, where she quickly discovered her passion for helping clients look and feel their best. Inspired to expand her knowledge and skill set, Aaliyah pursued a career in nursing, combining her love for aesthetics with advanced medical training.
Since joining the team, Aaliyah has become an essential part of both Voilà Aesthetics and B.A.L.A. Academy. Multiple course options run each month. Laser Certification meets first Thursday & Friday; Injectables on the last Monday. Basic runs first Friday, Advanced on the last Friday.
